*Balance of Payments
A systematic record of economic transactions over a certain period in a country. (1) The term is often used to mean either (i) the balance of payment (remaining payment) on "current account"; or (ii) current account plus certain long term capital movements. (2) The combination of the trade balance, current balance, capital account and invisible balance, which together form the total balance of payments. Balance of payment deficits tend to lead to prolonged restriction of capital transfer, and or decrease in value of currency
*Balance of Trade
The export value minus import value. Invisible balance is usually not included, and if not, known as the Mercantile or physical trade.
